Brett was born and raised right here in Elkhart. He is a proud graduate of Concord High School. Following high school, Brett earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington. After graduating from Indiana, Brett returned to Elkhart to begin his career in sales with Bristolpipe Corp. In 2012, he joined forces with his long-time friend and colleague Steve Boyer, to form Midwest Utility Sales & Marketing. They’ve been peddling pipes, fittings, and a multitude of other products servicing the municipal water and sewer industry throughout the midwestern United States ever since. He couldn’t ask for a better business partner.
Brett has three amazing children: Olivia(18) who is following in her father’s footsteps and currently attending her first year at Indiana University in Bloomington. Sophia(16) is in her sophomore year at Concord High School, and Garrett(15), is a freshman at Concord as well.
Brett’s dancing career took off at age 10, when he entered himself into a break dancing competition, complete with windmills, jackhammers, head and backspins. He later sharpened his dancing talents in college, performing the lead role two years in a row for IU Sing. Tonight, Brett will fall back on those experiences in an attempt to deliver a mind-blowing experience for everyone to see! Brett would like to thank Jennifer(JJ) Collins for convincing him to participate this year. He would like to furthermore thank his friends and family, for their unwavering love and support. He is very grateful for his coach and dance partner Jill Windy, for her patience and support, and his professional coach Jake Wilson, for his leadership and choreography expertise. Brett especially thanks the Elkhart Samaritan Center for their important and critical contributions for mental health in our community. Finally, Brett would like to thank his girlfriend Jennifer, who has been a huge help and support during this process.
Still Dancing in Elkhart is in its 11th season raising funds to support The Samaritan Center in Elkhart. The Center was founded by the First Presbyterian Church of Elkhart in 1972. It is the founding Center for the Solihten Institute (FKA The Samaritan Institute) and a network of 44 other Centers around the country. Still Dancing in Elkhart started during the Great Recession in 2009. It has brought financial healing to the Center and subsequent growth in serving the community.
The Center’s mission is to be the expression of the love of God by helping people under stress. The Center provides high level, spiritually integrated, mental health counseling to people of all ages, whatever their faith background might be.
This event will provide fee assistance to help ensure access for those who could otherwise not afford services. The success of this event is directly responsible for the Center growth in size and ministry over the last 10 years. In 2019 we expect to work with over 500 individuals, couples, and families and almost a third of them will have some level of fee assistance to support counseling hours.
Thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.
